NewTown Macon kicked off their annual meeting and Tour of Progress at The Lamar with refreshments, updates on recent developments, future goals for downtown, and a presentation of The Partners in Progress Awards.  The entire night was themed around NewTown Macon's central mission: A commitment to implementing the community's vision of a comprehensive, coordinated and continuous revitalization of downtown Macon, GA.

"The Partners in Progress Awards recognize individuals, development groups, investors or businesses that have made significant contributions to the revitalization of downtown Macon.  Awards are given in four categories: Increasing Residents, Growing Jobs, Creating a Sense of Place and Leadership."  Macon-Bibb Urban Development Authority for the Macon Action Plan took home the 360-Degree Award that honors a commitment to all three of NewTown's focuses: increasing residents, growing jobs and creating a sense of place.  Millworks Holdings for The Lamar was honored to take home the Increasing Residents Award for directly increasing residents by renovating buildings that house lofts, apartments or condominiums, and promoting downtown living.

We were honored to host NewTown Macon's annual event, and even more honored to be named a NewTown Macon Partner in Progress.  Our vision from day one has been to offer beautiful historic apartments with a tight-knit community feel.  We're excited to see downtown Macon grow and look forward to sharing many memories with our new neighbors.

Weren't able to make Wednesday's event?  NewTown Macon will repeat the Tour of Progress on Saturday, October 17th from 10am-Noon, starting at The Lamar.  For more info, visit us on Facebook.
